During the 35 years plus as a solicitor I have undertaken many varied roles including Managing Partner of a legal practice, Director and Chairman of LawNet, President of Eurojuris and founder Director and Chairman of Slough Business Community Partnership. During this period I have worked with many talented people for which I am very grateful.
My term as Managing Director of Gordons Property Lawyers has itself been a rewarding and enjoyable experience but from a different perspective. I am fortunate to work with younger people who are extremely hardworking and committed to our business in a way that is truly inspiring to me and to our clients and customers.
I am married to a solicitor with two grown up sons both of whom work in a legal environment. I am a keen skier, golfer and a lifelong Spurs fan – out of the three I am not sure which I find most challenging.
I joined Gordons in January 2015 as a contractor looking at process improvement. I became a permanent member of staff in August 2015 as the Customer Experience Director. My role covers the full range of departments focusing on delivering process and system improvements to make the GPL Customer Experience the best it can be. I am particularly proud of my GPL ‘baby’ G:PortL, our customer and partner portal which I developed in house with our IT Manager. G:PortL is helping us reengineer the remortgage Customer journey and experience and has produced some fantastic results for our customers and for GPL.
I enjoy lots of different activities from boxing to cooking, walking my dog to playing Uno with my husband and children. I also sing in a disco funk band and spend the majority of my weekends gigging at weddings, parties and night clubs.
I started at Gordons in 2005 as the Management Accountant. The Legal sector was a new industry for me having come from blue chip manufacturing and facilities organisations. Over the years, I have built the department, and implemented numerous process improvements.
In my spare time, I enjoy long dog walks, live music, going to the gym and the odd glass of prosecco!
I began my life at Gordons Property Lawyers Ltd in 2001 as the accounts office junior. After a lot of hard work and perseverance I gained the role of Team Leader in 2005.
More recently I have been appointed Business Analyst which suits my particular skill set.
In my own time, I like to keep fit through various different sports including golf and running.
For many years I’ve enjoyed clay pigeon shooting. I have competed at an international level by representing England on several occasions. Although I no longer compete I still enjoy taking part socially.
With almost 20 years working in the legal sector, I joined GPL in 2014 as PA to Paul, our MD. I work very closely with the management team, generally whipping them into shape, organising their lives and getting stuff done! Most recently, I have taken on more HR Management which is something that I am very interested in and keeps me on my toes. I am looking forward to all the exciting changes that are coming to GPL.
I love my holidays but I love my grandsons more. I travel to America often to see my daughter who moved there 7 years ago.
You can keep your skiing holidays, give me a beach and a cocktail and I am a happy girl!
Joining GPL in 2012, I quickly progressed and trained as a Case Handler. Over the last four years I have built an in depth knowledge of the Conveyancing process, working on most of the products which GPL offers. Now specialising in Business Development, I believe that listening to a client’s needs and developing mutually beneficial relationships are the key to success. This coupled with my experience as a Case Handler allows me to look at a case and quickly determine what needs to be done.
I have had an instrument in my hand for as long as I can remember! An avid skier having done many a ski season in Canada I am now settled down back in the UK. A fan of football and Formula One, I also like to keep myself fit in my spare time.
